Posted Sept 13, 2008 --> Changing the way we think ACTOR GLENN MORSHOWER TO PRESENT MOTIVATIONAL SEMINAR SUNDAY AT HIAWATHA Posted By TARA HAGAN, THE OBSERVER Glenn Morshower wants to change the20way we look at everyday living. The actor and motivational speaker is coming to Sarnia for the Canadian premiere of his seminar, "The Extra Mile: Living your Dream." The event is being held Sunday at Hiawatha Horse Park and Entertainment Centre, from 1:30 p. m. to 5 p. m. "It's very much a spirit-based program," Morshower told The Observer. "Really getting into who you are and what you are doing here on earth." Audience members will likely recognize Morshower, known for his recurring role as Aaron Pierce on the popular television series, "24." Other film and television credits include Transformers, Goodnight and Good Luck, Black Hawk Down, Air Force One, CSI, The West Wing, and Friday Night Lights. And while the 49-year-old says he loves acting, his real passion is his work as a speaker, which began about 20 years ago. His talks, originally geared towards actors but eventually expanded to a wider audience, are both humourous and emotional, he said. "I'm a 49-year-old man who is not afraid to play in front of a live crowd," he said. "I'll take on different characters, tell moving stories, and take people from laughter to tears." Morshower calls himself, "a professional reminder," and said there's no other motivational speaker out there quite like him. "We need to turn life into an ongoing celebration," he said, noting that too many people focus on what they don't have rather than what they have. "We're convinced that more is better." Morshower also speaks about taking care of the human body, and says thousands of people who have seen his show have contacted him saying they quit smoking because of it. "People do not respect the one ultimate irreplaceable thing they've been given -- their body," he said. Since he's usually on set taping "24" during the week, Morshower uses his weekends as an opportunity to spread his word. "It's not church -- it's not a religious experience. It speaks to everyone," he said. "This is the most significant work that I do. This is what I'm best at -- it's what I'm here to do." Glenn Morshower presents "The Extra20Mile: Living your Dream" at the Hiawatha Horse Park and Entertainment Centre on Sunday from 1:30 p. m. to 5 p. m.. Tickets are $40.
